The frangible seam for the cover of a motor vehicle seat airbag has crossing seams (R3) connected to the cover sections (B1,4) which are seamed through rivets (10) at their ends. The rivets are set in the corresponding cover sections at their crossing points. The rivets can be positioned in overlapping areas of the cover sections.
