It is intended to provide a composition containing a higher fatty acid derivative, which can be easily produced at a low cost, is efficacious as a preventive/remedy for osteoporosis induced by various factors such as dietin g and food restriction, has a high safety and can be regularly taken, and food s and drinks containing the same which are efficacious as preventives/remedies for osteoporosis induced by various factors such as dieting and food restriction and are appropriate for hospital diets, health foods and drinks, feeds and so on. The composition containing a higher fatty acid derivative a s described above is characterized by containing at least one higher fatty aci d derivative and being used as a preventive/remedy for osteoporosis. It is favorable that the higher fatty acid derivative contains octacosanal. The foods and drinks as described above are characterized by containing the abov e composition containing a higher fatty acid derivative. |
