A sealing, trimming or finishing strip (25) is shown for mounting on a flange (22) such as extending around the door opening of a vehicle. The strip comprises a channel-shaped attachment part (30) made up of portions (30A,30B) hinged together (32), the attachment part (30) carrying a soft tubular sealing part (10) which is sealingly compressed by the door of the opening. The attachment part (30) is secured in position on the flange (22) both adhesively and magnetically. Adhesive securing is achieved by two double-sided adhesive tapes (32,34). The magnetic securing is carried out by magnet strips (40,42,44 and 46) which hold the adhesive tapes (32,34) in partial compression. The magnet strips (40,42,44 and 46) ensure that the strip (8) is maintained firmly in position even at high temperatures when the strength of the adhesive may be reduced, and the adhesive tapes (32,34) compensate for the low resistance to shear forces of the magnetic attraction provided by the magnet strips (40,42,44 and 46). <IMAGE> |
