PURPOSE: A heat pump system for an electric vehicle is provided to prevent noise by liquid compression and to prevent breakage of a compressor, by preventing a liquid refrigerant from flowing into the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump system for an electric vehicle comprises a motor compressor compressing and discharging a refrigerant; an inverter(20) supplying power to the motor compressor; an indoor heat exchanger(30); an outdoor heat exchanger(40); a four-way valve(50) connected to the discharge side of the compressor and connected to the indoor and outdoor heat exchangers to selectively convert a passage; an expansion valve(60) installed between the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger; and refrigerant circulation pipes(70,80) formed between the motor compressor and the inverter to vaporize the refrigerant passing through the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger.
