PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the abnormality of a circuit by detecting a driving state from a heater apply voltage and a heater current, and to control the temperature of a fixing roller with high reliability in a constant-voltage driven fixing device. SOLUTION: A threshold for judging the abnormality of the heater current is changed in accordance with the changeover of the heater apply voltage, and then, accuracy in judging an error is enhanced.
