PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for a planetary gear of an automatic transmission, inexpensive to manufacture and free from deformation during machining with precise punching and deep drawing or during welding with electronic beams. SOLUTION: The carrier for the planetary gear of the automatic transmission comprises a boss part having a spline formed on an inner peripheral face of the center and a flange part coupled with the boss part for supporting a pinion. The boss part has other portions in disc shape than a central portion where the spline is formed, differently from conventional cup shape, and a lower face integrally brazing-coupled with a plurality of bridge upper faces provided at approximately equal spaces on the flange portion to form a pinion installation space between adjacent bridges. On the coupled faces between the boss part and the bridge, fixing protrusions and fixing grooves are formed in a mutually fittable manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
