<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical mechanism for detecting a click phenomenon by a finger which is capable of suppressing a space quantity needed by a small-sized electronic apparatus and/or a portable electronic device to the minimum. <P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting click operation 260 by a finger consists of a step 605 for receiving an image signal 55 of a human finger 20 in an optical sensor 104 and a step 615 for analyzing the image signal 610 and determining whether or not the image signal 55 shows the finger's click operation 260. Also, an imaging system 10 has a finger interface 110 equipped with a surface 115 which is capable of pressing the human finger, a light source 120 for irradiating the human finger 20 pressed onto the surface of the finger interface, and an optical image sensor 140 for capturing an image of a reflected light 128 and transmitting the image signal to be used for detecting the click operation by the finger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
