PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indirect lighting apparatus that is suitable for emphasizing the continuity and feeling of spaciousness of the whole space by optical irradiation, and capable of improving the beautiful sight of the whole of the space with maintaining the harmony with the space. SOLUTION: The indirect lighting apparatus 1 includes a front panel 3 arranged at the front side of a wall surface 2 apart from the wall surface 2, a strut 4 supporting this front panel 3 in a condition of facing the wall surface 2, and an apparatus main body 5 arranged on a flat surface on the wall surface side of the front panel 3. Then, at this time, the front panel 3 is preferably arranged at a height position adjacent to the ceiling surface 8 of the wall surface 2 and the lower end 3c of the front panel 3 is closed to the wall surface 2, and also the upper end 3b thereof is arranged as an inclination condition with the upper end 3b apart from the wall surface 2.
