PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by shortening an operating time of a storage medium having large power consumption, in a digital camera to which at least two types of external storage media with different power consumption are attached. SOLUTION: When moving images are recorded, the images are recorded in an external recording medium 35 with power consumption out of two types of external recording media. When the recorded data of the medium 35 reach a predetermined capacity, the recorded data in the media 35 are moved to an external recording medium 36 with large power consumption, and the medium 35 with the small power consumption continues to record moving images. Preferably, moving image data photographed during moving the recording data are temporarily stored in an internal memory 13, and the data stored in the internal memory 13 are moved to the medium 35 with small power consumption after completing the movement and photographing is continued.
