PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient power generation by making use of the energy due to detonation for MHD power generation. SOLUTION: A power generation system 1 is equipped with a detonation tube 5 which has a specified length of tubular cavity which generates detonation, and a field generating part 21 which generates a magnetic field inside the detonation tube 5. Then, the inside of the detonation tube 5 is turned to a specified temperature by the detonation which has occurred, igniting the fuel supplied by a fuel supply part 15, whereby electrons are generated from nuclei added by an alkaline metal addition part 17 and are shifted within the magnetic field to cause electromotive force to be induced.
