PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively search for a large quantity of information being searching object. SOLUTION: Each search object information SJ is included in a hierarchical space SQ to form a search object layer that is defined as an n-th search object layer SLn. Then, the search object information that is selected as a representative out of those included in each of plural divided blocks is included in another upper hierarchical space SQ to form an (n-1)-th search object layer SL (n-1). The formation of these layers are recurrently repeated to virtually construct a three-dimensional object search space SS that includes the 1st to n-th search object layers. A search picture that is obtained by viewing the inside of the space SS via a point of view PV having a line of sight reaching a lower hierarchy from the upper one in the space SS is displayed on a screen. Then, the group of search object information is retrieved by moving the point PV in the space SS.
