The present invention refers to a lift system for trash containers, which is placed and operated in a lateral manner to the vehicle or truck, thereby eliminating any manoeuvrability trouble, even if the vehicle is very large, and the need of placing the containers at the rear or front portion of the vehicle, avoiding the same to transversally park on the street. The system is controlled by a programmable controller, which has a computer program that is useful for the operator to carry out the operation by himself and without the need of moving from his seat. The said system monitors each phase of the arm movement, thereby reducing costs and achieving a safe and fast operation.
