PURPOSE: A field emission display is provided to form a thin-film insulating layer between a lower electrode and an electromigration insulating layer or a device insulating layer to prevent over-current and generate uniform electron beams. CONSTITUTION: A field emission display includes a lower substrate(25), a lower electrode(24) formed on the lower substrate, and an insulating layer formed on the lower electrode and the lower substrate. The field emission display further includes an upper electrode(28) formed on the insulating layer, and an anode(22) in which a phosphor is formed. A predetermined voltage difference is generated between the upper electrode and lower electrode to emit electrons. The field emission display further includes a thin-film insulating layer(30) between the insulating layer and the lower electrode.
