PURPOSE: A chip coil and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to achieve improved inductance, DC resistance, and current characteristics by maximizing the volumetric area of a ferrite core of the chip coil. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a chip coil comprises a step of constituting a ferrite core having square collars arranged at both ends of a magnetic core; a step of forming first electrodes(9) on five planes of collars connected to the magnetic core; a step of winding a coil(11) on the magnetic core of the ferrite core, and permitting both ends of the wound coil to contact the respective first electrodes; a step of depositing an epoxy resin(12) on the ferrite core wound with the coil, such that the first electrode disposed on one or two planes of the collars selected from the planes of the collars arranged perpendicularly to a center axis direction of the magnetic core is covered, and the first electrode disposed on the other planes of the collars is exposed; and a step of forming second electrodes(13,14) contacting the first electrode at least exposed to the epoxy resin.
