PURPOSE: A channel skip method for a PIP(Picture In Picture) TV is provided to detect a SYNC(SYNChronization) signal from a broadcasting signal tuned when performing a PIP mode and automatically skip a channel having no the SYNC signal, thereby displaying selectively only the broadcasting signal of the channel having a detected image signal. CONSTITUTION: In a state that the power of the TV is turned on and then a predetermined broadcasting program is displayed on a main screen, a control member discriminates whether a PIP mode is set or not(S200,S204). When the PIP mode is set, the control member searches entire channels of the broadcasting signal received through an antenna(S206). Thereafter, the control member discriminates whether the unsignalized channel having no a SYNC signal within the searched entire channel is searched or not(S208). When the unsignalized channel is searched, the control member skips the channel and outputs a PIP starting from the next broadcasting signal channel(S212). |
