A sealing member such as a shield plate or a seal that is attached to one of raceway rings (2) of a rolling bearing (1) and seals an annular space formed with the other raceway member (3) includes a metal ring (8). The metal ring (8) has a zinc plated layer on a surface thereof, and on a surface of the zinc plated layer an inorganic coating such as a lithium silicate coating is formed. When a coating amount of the inorganic coating is set or a way of forming the inorganic coating is controlled, the corrosion resistance and the workability same as or more than that in the case where the chromate layer is formed can be obtained.
