PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound battery whose size and weight can be reduced in the compound battery in which groups of different kinds of batteries are connected in series, and to provide a battery pack for accommodating the compound battery. SOLUTION: The compound battery is accommodated into the battery pack 20. In the compound battery, groups 24, 26 of different kinds of batteries are connected in series. Among the groups 24, 26 for composing the compound battery, voltages of the group 26 of batteries whose energy weight density or energy volume density are higher are set higher than those of the group 24 of batteries whose energy weight density or energy volume density are lower. Additionally, capacities of the batteries for composing the group 26 of the batteries whose energy weight density or energy volume density are higher are set smaller than those of the batteries for composing the group 24 of the batteries whose energy weight density or energy volume density are lower.
