PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimation system and a method therefor, capable of properly estimating an application program when changing a printer, an OS or the like, even if the printer is not actually connected. SOLUTION: Based on a job generated by execution of the application program, a state of the printer is required to a print engine simulator 410 simulating the same print control as print control to the printer, and is acquired. A prescribed state of the printer is forcibly set to the simulator, and the state of the printer forcibly set by the simulator is required. The required state of the printer is acquired.
