摘要 PURPOSE: An energy recovery circuit and a method for driving the same are provided to save the manufacturing cost by using the switch with low withstanding voltage since the voltage smoothly rising to the reference voltage is supplied during the initial operation. CONSTITUTION: An energy recovery circuit includes a panel capacitor(Cp), a source capacitor(Cs), an inductor(L), a first switch(S1), a second switch(S2) and a reference voltage supplying unit(30). The panel capacitor is equivalently formed on the discharge cell. The source capacitor is charged by recovering the voltage of the panel capacitor as well as it supplies the charged voltage to the panel capacitor again. The inductor is installed between the panel capacitor and the source capacitor. The first switch is installed between the inductor and the source capacitor to form the charge/discharge path of the source capacitor. The second switch is installed between the inductor and the source capacitor to form the charge/discharge path of the source capacitor. And, the reference voltage supplying unit supplies one of a rising pulse and a reference voltage having a predetermined voltage value.
