PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element module with which an optical element module device can be constituted easily by mounting the module on a substrate etc. while suppressing an optical coupling loss between an optical element and an optical fiber, by making the alignment between the element and fiber easier. SOLUTION: The optical element module is constituted by optically coupling the optical element 10 provided with a light emitting or receiving element 15, and terminals 12 electrically connected to the element 15; and the optical fiber 20 with each other on its element forming surface by joining the fiber 20 to the element 10, by bringing the end face of the fiber 20 into contact with the element 10 in a state where the fiber 10 is aligned with the element 15. On the outer peripheral surface of the optical fiber 20, a wiring pattern 22 which is extended in the direction of the axial line of the optical fiber 20 from the end face of the fiber 20 and electrically connected to the terminals 12 is provided. The optical element 10 and the optical fiber 20 are joined to each other in a state where the end face of the fiber 20 is brought into contact with the element forming surface, and the terminals 12 and wiring pattern 22 are electrically connected to each other.
