PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten substance recovering method capable of safely and stably processing various quantity of molten substrance having various characteristic and to be discharged from a rotary kiln, and to provide a device for the same. SOLUTION: (1) The molten metal 3 is received by a tilting water-granulating gutter 4, and crushed by water for carrying. In case of a block hard to be crushed and carried by water, the water-granulating gutter is tilted so that the block is fallen into a slag water vessel 2. (2) The molten substance is received by the tilting water-granulating gutter, and crushed and carried by water, and carried out of the rotary kiln. In the case of a block, the tilting water-granulating gutter is tilted so that the block is fallen into a dry pit. (3) The molten substance is received by a water-granulating slag conveyor arranged in a water surface of the slag water vessel, and crushed and carried by water, and carried by the conveyor. Blocks are carried by a water-granulating slag conveyor, and discharged out of the rotary kiln. Bumping of the water inside the water vessel is prevented by these methods and devices to safely recover the molten substrance.
