<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive member which does not cause defective charging due to surface defects of a cover layer even when a body to be charged is subjected to charging processing by applying only a direct voltage to the conductive member, and to provide a production method and a production apparatus of the conductive member. <P>SOLUTION: The conductive member comprises a conductive substrate and an elastic layer and a cover layer which are formed on the outer circumference of the conductive substrate, wherein before forming the cover layer, an aqueous solution is sprayed onto the surface of the elastic layer at a high pressure and the fouling is removed, and thereafter, compressed air is allowed to blow against the surface of the elastic surface and the cover layer is formed on the dried elastic layer. The aqueous solution contains no abrasive material and surface active agent and the solid content after drying is ≤1 wt.%. There is at least one means that sprays the aqueous solution at a high pressure and the spraying means is arranged in such a manner that the streamline of the aqueous solution sprayed by the means is approximately orthogonal to the axial direction of the substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
