<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance work support system and method for a computer, capable of acquiring technical information and software for maintenance of the computer on the spot. <P>SOLUTION: This system has: a wirelessly communicable maintenance person terminal 10 having a USB interface 11; an information server 20 having a maintenance history database 22 and a technical information database 21 of the computer, and transmitting a maintenance work direction menu corresponding to configuration information about the target computer 30 transmitted from the maintenance person terminal 10 to the maintenance person terminal 10; a wireless data communication network 100 connecting the information server 20 and the maintenance person terminal 10; information collection software 50 stored in a storage medium, allowing the computer 30 to read and execute it; and a USB cable 40 capable of connecting the maintenance person terminal 10 and the computer 30.
