<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element mounting package that is free from optical axis deviation between an optical element and an optical path changing part and that has small light transmission loss. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element mounting package 10 is equipped with an optical element 61, an optical interposer 70, a base material 52, an optical path changing part 77, etc. The optical interposer 70 has a first end 72 that is arranged oppositely facing the light emitting face 64 of the optical element 61, a second end 73 that is positioned on the side opposite from the first end 72, and a plurality of light transmitting parts 74 that communicate with the first and the second end 72, 73.
