In a ball joint of the type wherein the joint pin 2 passes rotatably through a bore in a bearing ring slidably bearing against an inner surface 4 of the housing 1 and the joint pin is provided with a bearing head 9 having a shoulder 10 bearing against the bearing ring, the bearing ring comprises a flanged bush 3 made of a plastics material having a flange 7 bearing against shoulder 10 and a sintered metal annulus 14 fitting around the .bush and having a segmental spherical bearing surface bearing against the inner ;surface of the housing and being flush with the segmental spherical bearing surfaces 6a, 7a of the flanged bush. The head is pressed against the ring 3 by a pad 12 of elastomeric material, e.g. crosslinked polyurethane, compressed by the housing cover 11. The flanged bush may be made of acetal resin and the sintertd metal annulus may comprise sintered iron. |
