PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect only a unidirectional magnetic field, and to extend a contact opening and closing life by leaps and bounds, in a reed switch formed by sealing a pair of elastic body reeds 1 in a glass tube 3 at fixed intervals. SOLUTION: A magnetic body lead piece 4 is magnetized by mounting a permanent magnet to the vicinity of one sealing part 6 outside the glass tube of the lead switch, and contacts are attracted each other.
