PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate whether a driver's own vehicle enters a branch lane branched from a main lane of a traveling road or not. SOLUTION: The number of lanes of a road on which the driver's own vehicle is traveling is detected (S110), the number of lanes and the traveling lane of the driver's own vehicle are estimated from the detected results of a delineator (S120) and the number of lanes and the traveling lane of the driver's own vehicle are estimated from the detected results of a forward vehicle (S130). Then the traveling lane of the driver's own vehicle is estimated on the basis of "the number of lanes of the road on which the driver's own vehicle is traveling" detected by the step S110, "the estimated result of the traveling lane based on the delineator" and "the estimated result of the traveling lane based on the forward vehicle" (S140). Thereby the reliability of the estimated results of the traveling lane can be improved and whether the driver's own vehicle enters a branch lane branched from the main lane of the traveling road or not can be accurately estimated on the basis of the estimated results.
