The internal combustion engine has a valve chamber cover in which there is a pressure regulating valve (23) for the gases blown through. It also has an element (11) of thermoplastic, serving as a protector against spray. The thermoplastic element may have at least two parallel flat parts (12, 13) in two planes. The pressure regulating valve may be integrated into the external outline of the valve chamber cover. The pressure regulating valve made be fitted after a centrifugal separator (56).
