Support for solar energy collector plate - in wedge-shaped form for installation on a flat roof

A wedge shaped support is made from foamed plastic. It is formed with a recess for the location of solar energy collection plates and their liquid connecting pipes. The base of the wedge is fixed to the flat roof e.g. to the asphalt, and the sloping surface which carries the energy collector may be covered with a protective glass shield. The plastic wedge may be perforated to minimise its wind resistance. It an alternative construction for the wedge support, corrugated or preformed metal sheet may be used to make a suitably shaped frame with an internal metal reinforcement. Provides a light and cheap construction with good wind resistance.
