<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the accurate positioning and alignment of an assembly for imaging device to be maintained, and in addition, to enable the assembly to be reduced in size. <P>SOLUTION: The assembly 110 for an imaging device for reading an image etc. of an original placed on a platen glass is provided with an imaging lens 118, an optical spacer 120 physically integrated into the lens 118, and an optical detection system 126 physically integrated into the optical spacer 120. A light 112 from an image is reflected on a reflective surface 116 of an optical component 114, and is guided to the inside of the lens 118.
