PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply system in which contamination with ink being supplied can be prevented or reduced. SOLUTION: The ink supply system has an ink supply side joint member 60 and a head side joint member 70 being jointed to each other. The ink supply side joint member 60 is arranged on the ink bottle 40 side with respect to the head side joint member 70. Each joint member 60, 70 is provided with an ink channel 62, 71 having an opening for passing ink, a valve 64, 72 movable between a position for closing the opening and a position for opening the opening, and a means for urging the valve to the closing position. At the time of jointing, the valve 64 of the ink supply side joint member 60 moves the valve 72 of the head side joint member 70 from the closing position toward the opening position before starting movement to the opening position.
