PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article charging device 21 capable of charging an article 15 by corresponding to the direction of the article 15 conveyed by a cart 13 of a belt cart sorter 11 and stabilizing the direction of the charged article 15. SOLUTION: In the belt cart sorter 11, the articles 15 are loaded on the cart 13 in the predetermined direction and are conveyed. The article 15 is carried onto a conveyor 22 for charging in the direction corresponding to the direction of the article 15 conveyed by the cart 13 of the belt cart sorter 11. The conveyor 22 for charging charges the article 15 onto the cart 13 of the belt cart sorter 11 in the direction of the article 15 in a condition in which it is conveyed by a carrying-in device 23.
