PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for continuously dewatering sludge having high moisture content, which firstly dehydrates the sludge by a rotation of a squeezing screw and secondarily dehydrates the sludge by squeezing of squeezing plates, thereby separating the sludge into a cake having low moisture content and moisture. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a dehydration pipe (11), a squeezing screw (16), a first driving device (17a), a dehydration chamber (12), an eccentric shaft, a pair of squeezing plates and a second driving device (17b). The dehydration pipe has a sludge inlet (13) on an upper portion, a first overflow 14a on a lower portion and a cylindrical screen (15) on an inner portion. The squeezing screw is received in the cylindrical screen, of which a screw pitch is gradually decreased in a downward direction. The first driving device operates the squeezing screw. The dehydration chamber is connected to a lower end portion of the dehydration pipe, and has a second overflow (14b) on a lower portion and a scrapper (18) on an inner upper portion. The squeezing plates are supported by the eccentric shaft, each of which is opposite to each other. The second driving device operates the eccentric shaft.
