PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor for linear drive which can be manufactured at low material cost, low production cost and low expenses. SOLUTION: A stator 44 includes a stator body 64 and phase windings connected with a phase connecting portion 68. A rotor 42 is installed in a rotor hub 52. The rotor hub is rotatably supported in a motor housing 76 through a rolling bearing 62, and coupled with a threaded shaft 56 with a screw so as to convert the rotational motion of the rotor into the translational motion of the threaded shaft. The motor housing has an injection-molded piece in which a stator is embedded together with the stator body and the phase windings. A linear guiding portion 72 is incorporated in the injection-molded piece of the motor housing for housing and fixing the threaded shaft. The rotor hub is also formed of an injection-molded piece in which the rotor is fixed, and the injection-molded piece of the rotor hub has a female screw which cooperates with a male screw 58 of the threaded shaft.
