<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device as well as a lamp replacing method wherein the lamp replacement can be made simply and at a suppressed cost, and wherein degradation in display quality due to adhesion of foreign matters when replaced is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: This is constituted of a lamp set 5 in which a lamp 10 to become the light source of the backlight, an inverter substrate 12 to supply the power supply to the lamp, a return substrate 13, and a power supply route part such as a return cable 14 are supported by a lamp support frame 16, and constituted of the backlight chassis 21 which holds optical components such as a diffuser sheet 19 to diffuse the backlight and an optical sheet 20 by a diffuser plate holding recess, and which holds the lamp set extraction and insertion freely, and the lamp is made exchangeable by the minimum unit. By this, replacement work is made easier and the cost required for the replacement is reduced, and furthermore by leaving the optical member, the adhesion of the foreign matters to the liquid crystal panel is prevented and the reduction of the display quality is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
