<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectral anisotropic scattering film capable of improving a color viewing angle characteristic without impairing other characteristics such as a contrast and a viewing angle. <P>SOLUTION: An azimuth angle θ on an arbitrary scattering surface of a film surface and scattered light intensity Fx(λ, θ) at an incident light wavelength λ, and an azimuth angle θ on a scattering surface orthogonal to the scattering surface and scattered light intensity Fy(λ, θ) at the incident light wavelength λ satisfy expressions (1) and (2), or satisfies an expression (3). Here, (1) Fx(λ, θ)/Fx(545, θ)≥1.2, (2) [Fx(λ, θ)/Fx(545, θ)-Fy(λ, θ)/Fy(545, θ)]≥0.1, and (3) [Fx(λ, θ)/Fx(545, θ)-1][Fy(λ, θ)/Fy(545, θ)-1]<0, wherein λ is 435 or 610 nm, and θ is an arbitrary angle selected from θ=30 to 70°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
