<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router compatible with satellite communication for accommodating satellite communication channels and ground communication channels that selects a transfer path by reflecting a requirement or the like of a sender on the selection of the transfer path. <P>SOLUTION: When the router 3 compatible with satellite communication receives an IP packet from a ground communication channel (internal) 7 at a receiver side, a bit 7 of a TOS (Type Of Service) field of the IP packet being a satellite communication instruction bit, a TOS check section 3041 of a communication channel selection section 304 checks the TOS field of the IP packet, the communication channel selection section 304 selects the satellite communication channel 6 for the transfer path of the IP packet when the satellite communication instruction bit is set, and the communication channel selection section 304 selects the satellite communication channel or the ground communication channel for the transfer path of the IP packet on the basis of a prescribed selection criterion of a selection criterion discrimination section 3042 when the satellite communication instruction bit is not set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
