PURPOSE: A transformer and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form an epoxy molding layer around a case and a pair of cores to prevent current leakage. CONSTITUTION: A transformer includes a base(40), a primary coil group(10) and a secondary coil group(20), an insulating plate(30), a pair of cores(50), and an epoxy molding layer(60). The base includes a coil insertion hole, a fixed protrusion, a rectangular coupling hole on both sides of the coil insertion hole, and a connection node(44) protruded from edges of the base. The primary coil group and secondary coil group are formed to be in a shape of winding coils which are automatically wound around a predetermined base, and are inserted to the coil insertion hole of the base. The insulating plate is implemented between the primary and secondary coil groups such that an inner voltage is prevented in each of the coil groups, when the primary coil and the secondary coil are inserted in the base while the primary and secondary coils are overlapped. Each of the cores is inserted in upper and lower directions of a fixed protrusion and a coupling hole in the base. The cores are fixed by applying an adhesive material on corresponding protrusions. The epoxy molding layer is molded on an outer circumference of the base and the cores.
