PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a delay ACK on the basis of an average interval of arrival periods of TCP packets is provided to meet adaptively various data service speeds by using the average interval of the arrival periods of the TCP packets to transmit the delay ACK. CONSTITUTION: An ACK timeout is determined on the basis of an average interval of TCP packet arrival periods when a TCP packet arrives(S1,S2). A delay ACK timer is operated when the ACK timeout is determined(S3). The delay ACK timer transmits an ACK according to an arrival state of the ACK timeout and determined an arrival state of a TCP packet(S4,S5). The delay ACK timer is stopped and the ACK is transmitted according to an arrival state of the TCP packet(S6,S7).
