PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for artificially culturing Grifola frondaosa having an increasedβ-D-glucan content in the situation that, if the culture of Grifola frondaosa fruit bodies containing extremely large amount ofβ-D-glucan, an effective component of an antitumor active substance, is realized, a great advantage is imparted to the use of Grifola frondaosa as a source material of an antitumor active substance. SOLUTION: A method for culturing Grifola frondaosa fruit bodies in which a pulp-containing culture medium is used for artificially culturing Grifola frondaosa fruit bodies.
