Bis(trimethylsilyl)aminopropyl substituted chlorosilanes

Bis(trimethylsilyl)aminopropyl substituted chlorosilane derivatives are new. Bis(trimethylsilyl)aminopropyl substituted chlorosilane derivatives of formula (I) are new. [(CH 3) 3Si] 2NCH 2CH 2CH 2Si(CH 3) nCl 3 - n (I) n : 0 or 1. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) preparation of (I); and (2) preparation of bis(trimethylsilyl)aminopropyl substituted oxysilane compound of formula [(CH 3) 3Si] 2NCH 2CH 2CH 2Si(CH 3) n'(OR) 3 - n' (II) involving reacting bis(trimethylsilyl)aminopropyl substituted chlorosilane derivative of formula [(CH 3) 3Si] 2NCH 2CH 2CH 2Si(CH 3) n'Cl 3 - n' (I') with alcohol ROH. R : 1-10C hydrocarbon; and n' : 0 - 2.
