An end plate (18) is used to close the mouthpiece end of a central passage (14a) in a sealing unit. The dimensions of the outer periphery of the plate correspond approximately to those of the inside of the blow tube (10). The flute comprises a tone tube with two open ends, finger holes and valves, a blow tube with two open ends and a mouthpiece (11). One end of the blow tube is connected to one end of the tone tube and the other end of the blow tube closest to the mouthpiece is closed using a sealing unit placed inside the blow tube. The sealing unit comprises a sealing body (14) with a central passage for a threaded support shaft (15) located on the blow tube length axis. A screw cap (13) extending around the mouthpiece end of the blow tube can be screwed onto the shaft. A length bore (15c) inside the shaft terminates at an open end of the shaft for cooperating with the screw cap.
