PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enabling the production of lower aliphatic alkenyl carboxylate stably in high efficiency for a long period of time. SOLUTION: In the presence of a catalyst that is prepared by allowing the catalyst components including alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal compounds, an element in the group 11 of the periodic table or at least one of compound of the element and palladium to be carried on the support, a lower olefin, lower aliphatic carboxylic acid and oxygen are allowed to react in the vapor phase to produce a corresponding lower aliphatic carboxylate.
