SUBSTANCE: method solves the problem of increase of protection efficiency of carbon steel from corrosion in media containing esters of carboxylic oxides and improvement of ecological characteristics of chemical production due to introduction into said medium of trimethylalkylammonium chloride inhibitor of general formula in amount of 1 g/l, where n = 1-10. Proposed method is used for protection of working equipment and containers in medium of herbicide CHISTALAN presenting multicomponent mixture of low-volatile esters of carboxylic acids, nonionic surfactants and oil solvents.
