<p>The apparatus has a sensor (6) to detect a steering angle of an operation portion (2) of a vehicle. A sensor (12) detects a turning angle of the vehicle. A cable mechanism (15) transmits a steering torque, when a clutch (5) causes a steering wheel and steered road wheels to be connected. A steer-by-steer controller (17) calculates an angular deviation, between the values of sensors, due to the deformation of the mechanism. An independent claim is also included for a steering method for an automotive vehicle.</p> |
