<p>The invention relates to pyridinylaminomethylidenebisphosphonic acid tetraesters, to a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of bone diseases and to the use thereof. The pyridinylaminomethylidenebisphosphonic acid tetraesters whose structure corresponds to the general formula I: wherein each of the groups R1 to R4 represents a straight or branched saturated C1-C5 alkyl group, each of X and Y representing independently hydrogen, a straight or branched saturated C1-C5 alkyl group, halogen, hydroxyl, C1-C5 alkoxy, benzyloxy, acyloxy, nitro, trifluoromethyl or NR5R6 wherein R5 and R6 are identical or different and represent hydrogen, C1-C5 -alkyl or -acyl used as therapeutically active agents. The claimed pharmaceutical composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and an effective amount of a composition of the formula I. The compounds of the formula I are used in the treatment of bone diseases, such as: osteolytic bone disease due to malignancy, Paget's disease and primary and secondary osteoporosis.</p> |
