PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an emulsion of a cinnamic acid ultraviolet light absorber safe for the skin, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The emulsion comprises 0.01-10 wt.% of a PC copolymer containing a constituent unit based on a PC monomer (a monomer having a phosphorylcholine-like group), 0.01-20 wt.% of the cinnamic acid ultraviolet light absorber and 70-99.98 wt.% of an aqueous medium. In the emulsion, an average particle diameter is 10-3,000 nm. The PC copolymer is a copolymer of 5-95 mol% of the PC monomer having the phosphorylcholine-like group represented by a specific formula and 95-5 mol% of an LA monomer represented by a specified formula which is selected from alkyl methacrylates.
