PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device, capable of forming a compact image forming apparatus while holding satisfactory appearance by utilizing a space in the image forming apparatus main body efficiently, even when overlapping vertically a plurality of paper feeding cassettes in which at least one cassette has capacity different from that of the other cassette. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus main body 1a, the first and second cassettes 14, 15 having different capacity are arranged by overlapping them at steps below an image forming part A. Fronts 16d of the first and second cassettes 14, 15 are set to have the same size and are flush with the image forming apparatus main body 1a in the image forming part A. The space S is formed just above a paper storage part of the cassette 14 having small capacity. An electrical part 50 in the image forming part A is arranged in the space S.
