PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a photographing mode among a plurality of modes used in accordance with a photographing scene with less amount of manipulation because the photographing mode set in the photographing scene is far because the display sequence of mode selection menu of a camera is fixed. SOLUTION: A time is determined by a clock and the display sequence of the photographing mode selection menu is interchanged depending on a time zone to set the mode used often in this time to the first sequence. The photographing scene is estimated not only by the clock but also by brightness information from AE, the information of indoor/outdoor depending on a GPS, season information based on the date on the clock, weather information by a thermometer, weather information by the GPS and a communicating function, and the information of an under-water condition and an elevated area depending on a manometer and the photographing mode/WB mode which is often used in this scene can be displayed first.
