PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve to float up a gyro rotor at a high efficiency, without rubbing. SOLUTION: The electrostatic floating type gyro apparatus has an electrostatic supporting electrode and a rotary driving electrode formed in a gyro case. Its starting sequence is divided into a floating sequence S22-S16 and a rotation sequence S23-S25. The attitude is controlled at starting to verify the floating of a gyro rotor and then the rotation drive is performed.
